Building Competence, Trust, and Innovation in Islamic Finance

About IIFP

The Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals (IIFP) is dedicated to advancing knowledge, professionalism, and ethical practice in the global Islamic finance industry. Our programs are designed to equip members, regulators, and industry stakeholders with cutting-edge skills aligned with international standards (AAOIFI, IFSB, CIBAFI, INCEIF).

At IIFP, we believe many of the world’s economic challenges can be addressed by offering alternatives to interest-based financial operations. Unlike traditional institutions often led solely by academics and administrators, our foundation is rooted in the practical application of banking and finance. This real-world expertise translates directly into the effectiveness and relevance of our content.

We are also proud to be the world’s first dedicated Islamic finance portal, offering training videos, certifications, career counseling, and a comprehensive library of scholar-approved solutions.

10+ Years of History

Since 2014, IIFP has been shaping leaders who are transforming Africa’s financial landscape through Shariah-compliant solutions.

Our Background

The vision for IIFP was first conceived in 2005. It gained momentum in 2012 when a group of young Muslim professionals met to explore how Islamic finance could offer a viable path to alleviating Nigeria’s economic challenges.

The Institute was formally incorporated as a company limited by guarantee on August 7, 2014, after securing letters of “no objection” from four key government bodies:

  • Federal Ministry of Education

  • Federal Ministry of Justice

  • Federal Ministry of Finance

  • Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)

The initial promoters’ meeting was held on August 11, 2013, with attendees including:

  • Dr. Tajudeen Yusuf

  • Mr. Adebiyi Bashir

  • Mr. AbdulRasheed Babalola

  • Barrister Fatai OlaBakare

  • Mr. Sharafa Olanrewaju Monsuru

Message from Office of the president

Islamic Finance is not just about profit without interest, but about purpose with integrity where wealth becomes a trust and every transaction a testimony of faith.

Islamic Finance is not just about profit without interest, but about purpose with integrity where wealth becomes a trust and every transaction a testimony of faith. As Islamic finance professionals, we stand at the intersection of ethics and economics, proving that financial growth and moral responsibility can thrive together.

True success in Islamic finance is measured not only by balance sheets but by the balance it restores between people, prosperity, and divine accountability.
