From Learning to Leadership: Empowering Future Islamic Finance Professionals

BACKGROUND

The Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals (IIFP) in collaboration with Qitmeer Smart Consultancies, Dubai United Arab Emirates (UAE) is organizing a national summer capacity-building workshop in Lagos state, Nigeria, titled: “From Learning to Leadership: Empowering Future Islamic Finance Professionals”. Qitmeer training maintains its leadership as a leading training Centre for the global Islamic Finance Education.

Workshop Objectives

  • To introduce participants to the principles of Islamic banking and how it differs from conventional finance and Shariah principles relevant to Non-interest financial institutions
  • To highlight the impact of Shariah governance and regulatory framework based on IFSB & AAOIFI standards
  • To explore the concept of Takaful undertakings, Takaful business models and operational mechanisms
  • To deepen participants’ understanding of Sukuk and relevance of Qawaid fiqhiyyah (Islamic legal Maxims) to Islamic financial institutions operations
  • To strengthen participants’ foundation for further academic or professional advancement in Islamic finance and Shariah legal studies
